The Fredrick A. Carleson papers (1883-1993) contain correspondence, diaries, scrapbooks, certificates, notebooks, pamphlets, and business records concerning Fredrick Carleson and members of the Carleson, Gailey, and Patterson families. Carleson owned an automobile dealership in Salt Lake City. He was president of the Utah Automobile Dealers Asociation during the 1970s.

Carman established and managed several early Utah commercial radio stations, including KUTA (later KLUB) and KISN in Salt Lake City. The bulk of the collection consists of records, including advertising and public affairs broadcast transcripts, from these stations.
