Scope and Contents
The Scott Carrier photograph collection contains 70 11 1/2 x 15 color, matted photographs. Carrier's photography is taken throughout his travels internationally and in the American West. They document subjects and places including the Taliban in Afghanistan; the local lives of people in Cambodia, China, Pakistan, and Turkey; the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints annual General Conference; and bikers in Wyoming. The photographs were taken between 1998 and 2005.

Biographical Note
Scott Carrier (1957-) is a photographer, author, radio producer, and podcaster from Salt Lake City, Utah. Carrier received a BA in Anthropology from the University of Colorado and an MS in Communications from the University of Utah. He has contributed to national public radio programs like This American Life and All Things Considered. Carrier's written journalism has been published in Esquire, Harper's, and Mother Jones. In 2005, Carrier won a Peabody Award for his story “Crossing Borders,” which aired on the program Hearing Voices. Between 2007 and 2013, he taught journalism at Utah Valley University. Carrier is the author of two books: 2002’s Running After Antelope and 2013’s Prisoner of Zion: Mormons, Muslims, and Other Misadventures . In 2015, he started an independent podcast, Home of the Brave.
