The White Horse Prophecy transcript (1905-1965) was copied from the diary of Elder John J. Roberts, of Paradise, Utah. Described in the entry is a prophecy purportedly received May 1843, by Joseph Smith. Joseph Smith was a Prophet and the founder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church).

The Emil Morris Whitesides papers (1917-2003) consist of personal correspondence during his participation in World War I (1917-1919), along with an autobiography titled, Things I Remember Most and Things I have Been Told. The autobiography was compiled in 2003 by Whitesides descendants and tells about his experience in the military, his missionary work, family life, and various activities.

The John Whitmer papers (1831-1846) contains a typescript of Whitmer's history of the LDS Church by Pauline Hancock (of the now defunct Church of Christ). Also included is an excerpt from David Whitmer's pamphlet, "An Address to Believers in the Book of Mormon."

The J. K. Whitney letters [photocopies] (1865-1966) consist of three short letters to Horace K. Whitney of Salt Lake City from his brother, J. K. Whitney, who was serving a mission for the LDS Church in Dundee, Scotland.

The Orson F. Whitney papers (1876-1931) consist of photocopies of the diaries, notebooks, and autobiography of Orson F. Whitney, a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, from 1906 until his death in 1931.

The Elsie Ross Whittaker papers (1915-1947) contain materials relating to being an LDS missionary in the Eastern States Mission from 1922 to 1924, including her diary, a letter from B. H. Roberts, mission circular letters, programs, her patriarchal blessing, and a scrapbook. Elsie Ross Whittaker was born on 22 December 1893 and died in June 1971.

The Elsie Ross Whittaker photograph collection contains photographs of Elsie Ross Whittaker and her involvement in the LDS church as well as a trip to New York.

The John Andreas Widstoe photograph depicts a portrait of Widstoe. Widstoe was the President of the University of Utah from 1916 to 1921. In 1921, Widstoe accepted an appointment to an apostleship in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in that capacity until his death in 1952.

The Dan Milton Hughes Wilcox papers (1940-1992) contain journals, correspondence, school and work papers, research and calendars. He was active in the gay rights movement in Salt Lake City, and led discussions with Affirmation, a group for gay and lesbian Latter Day Saints and was also active in the Metropolitan Community Church, which ministers to LGBT people.

The Feargus O'Connor Willden papers consist of an autobiography/diary of Feargus O'Connor Willden (1864-1878), autobiographical to 1878, then diary entries or transcription 1864-1868; family history to 1955 incorporating a typed transcription of the diary; papers related to an application for an Indian Wars veterans pension; a 1920 Indian Wars Veteran ribbon. Willden was a Utah Black Hawk War veteran and a resident of south-central Utah.

The Joseph S. Willes biography on William Willes consist of a brief biographical sketch of the life of William Willes, with excerpts from several journals kept by him, by Joseph S. Willes, a grandson. The subjects summarized give a biographical sketch of Willes' conversion to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in England, persecution he suffered as a result, his mission to India and England, and his life in Utah.

The Thomas S. Williams chronology (2013) was compiled and edited by James W. Moss and is entitled, "Walking Tall in Utah Territory: The Chronology of Thomas S. Williams and His Father, Alexander with Alexander Williams' Genealogy Addendum." Included are research materials collected by Moss while compiling the history.

The Benjamin Willmore memoirs (1978) describe his life as an LDS convert in Birmingham, England; his immigration to Logan, Utah in 1877; and his experiences in railroading and lumbering. Included are a poem, statement, and satire by Willmore, as well as photographs and family group sheets.

The Joseph Wilson correspondence (1879) consist of three letters written to Wilson from his brother, Samuel F. Wilson and his mother, Elizabeth Smith. The letters provide details about the United Order in Brigham City, Arizona Territory (on the Little Colorado River). The collection includes typescripts of the correspondence.

The John R. Winder diary (1857-1858) contains entries from November 1857 to April 1858. Winder (1821-1910) held several positions within the LDS Church.

The Arthur C. Wiscombe papers (1984-2007) consist of volumes of letters, notebooks, essays and journal writings by Wiscombe. Wiscombe served as a teacher, principal, superintendent of Salt Lake City, UT and Downers Grove, IL school districts, and professor of philosophy at BYU and the University of Utah.

The Asahel Hart Woodruff journals [photocopies] (1902-1937) detail his life. Asahel Hart Woodruff was the son of Wilford Woodruff. He was president of the LDS Church's Northern States Mission from 1902-1904, bishop of the Waterloo Ward from 1905-1916, and councilor in the Granite Stake beginning in 1916.

The Wilford Woodruff papers (1833-1898) contain a handwritten document by Woodruff regarding the successions of the Mormon Church Presidency, concerning Orson Hyde and Orson Pratt and their placement in line of succession of the LDS Church. Also included are copies of his journal as well as a revelation from 1877. Wilford Woodruff was the fourth president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church).

The Jabez Woodward diary [photocopy] (1857-1858) was kept while he served as a missionary for the LDS Church.
