The Benjamin Willmore memoirs (1978) are a two-volume, indexed typescript (97 and 93 pages) of Benjamin Willmore's (1860-1944) life history titled "Fifty Years Among the Mormons". The document was reproduced and edited by Paul Willmore (1912-1997), Benjamin Willmore's son. The writings recount the author's early years in Birmingham, England; his family background; and his activities and remembrances as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Birmingham. Willmore also discusses his 1877 immigration from England to Utah, where he settled in Logan. He goes on to discuss LDS Church activities in Logan, as well as his experiences in railroading and lumbering. The document includes references to Willmore's employment and other activities in southeastern Idaho, Cheyenne, and Denver. Completing volume two is an addendum, comprised of three other writings by Benjamin Willmore: an 1897 poem, "Utah's First Jubilee," that commemorates the arrival of Mormon pioneers to the Salt Lake Valley; "Regarding Myself," a brief description of his activities in Strevell, Idaho, in 1917; and "The Nut," a "satire" focusing on American liberties, that he wrote in 1935. The last pages of the second volume offer some genealogical information and reproductions of family photographs.
