Chase and Mathews family histories

Abstract The Chase and Mathews family histories (1957-2006) consist of memories, recollections, transcriptions and copies of materials that detail the history of these two families. Isaac Chase came to Utah in 1847 and in 1854 he partnered with Brigham Young to developed a flour mill which became known as the Chase Mill.

It begins around 1878 when Foley (1858-1948) left the Salt Lake area with her husband and young child in an oxen-train headed for Arizona. It ends around 1930 when Foley, then settled in southern California, was active in church work connected with the Mexican Mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
