Biographical Sketch
Martha Spence Heywood (1812-1873) was a cap maker and school teacher from Hamilton, Canada. She joined the LDS Church in 1848 and settled in Utah in 1850. In 1851, she became the third polygamous wife of Joseph Leland Heywood (b. 1815) and had two children, Joseph Neal (b. 1851) and Sarepta Maria (b. 1853).
