The George Isom papers (1846-1885) consist of the written memories of George Isom, an early Mormon settler in St. George and Virgin, Utah. Isom writes of his family's emigration from England to the Salt Lake Valley, and then to St. George. He also writes of his marriage and children and his labors in building rock houses, in running a cane mill, and in farming.

Biographical Sketch

Geroge Isom was born in England and began working for an iron-munger in Birmingham at age ten. His family emigrated to Utah in 1862 and settled in St. George.
