The Alexander Baird autobiography was edited and arranged by his granddaughters Delores Hopkins Woodland and Marilyn Baird McArthur. Baird (1832-1915) was born in Paisley, Scotland. His autobiography narrates his sailing adventures around the globe, his conversion to the LDS Church, and life in Utah.

Abstract
The Thomas Hart Benton letters (1846-1852) contain correspondence from Benton. In the first letter, Benton suggests that the one to two thousand Americans who were in Northern Mexico be taken in with Col. Kearney's troops and used to protect the Santa Fe route. In the second, Benton thanks Professor Lubin for recommending Great Basin be renamed after Benton's son-in-law, the explorer John C. Fremont.

The Charles Eggert photograph collection consists of slides documenting the Eggert-Hatch filming expedition, the purpose of which was the make the last films of the Green and Colorado Rivers before construction of the Colorado River Storage Project was begun in 1956. The collection also includes photos taken during the creation of Canyonlands National Park in Utah. Eggert was a photographer and independent filmmaker from New York.
