Abstract
The Hector Haight Lee papers (1945-1988) consist of twenty-five typescripts of radio broadcasts from station KSRO in Santa Rosa, California. The broadcasts, called "Tales of the Redwood Empire," were aired from September 24, 1961 to March 17, 1963. These folktales of early pioneer life in the Redwood country of California deal with Indians, Spanish and Mexican rule, settlement, land quarrels, lost mines, and buried treasure.
