Abstract The Vesta W. James papers (1942) contain the transcript of an interview she gave in 1915 to the Salt Lake Tribune, concerning the first hotels in Salt Lake City. Also included in the papers is another article written by James entitled, "History of Pioneer Bands and Orchestras in Utah," which was part of the Utah Writers Project.

Abstract The Walker House guest register (1875) contains signatures of the hotel's guests between July 13, 1875 and December 30, 1875. The Walker House was a relatively new addition to the downtown Salt Lake City area at this time, having been built in 1872. It was torn down shortly after the turn of the century and replaced by the David Keith Building, located at 248 S. Main Street.
