Abstract The Melvin Henry Fletcher scrapbook (1918-1963) is a color copy of Fletcher's lifetime scrapbook, which consists of certificates, awards, news clippings, and a column written by Mel while living in San Diego. Fletcher was born in Park City, Utah in 1918. He served twice in the U.S. Navy and wrote a column in Aircraft Mechanic about ice skating events. He competed in ski jumping and was well-known in the skiing community.

Clippings document the activities of Fredbo, Alf Engen, and other skiers. Many clippings document ski jumping competitions held at Ecker Hill. Einar Fredbo was a ski jumper in Utah and the western United States.
