Bill Spencer digital photograph collection
The Bill Spencer photograph collection contains biathlon skiers, Bill Spencer on skis, 1930s-1940s and 1976, images were created from digital scans of 35 mm slides of a U.S. ski team, 1964 Olympic Biathlon Team, and two men working with a gun. The collection also contains personal photographs.
This collection is entirely digital and available online in our Digital Library.

The materials also document the development of biathlon as an Olympic sport. Included is a photocopy of the book Biathlon by Arthur Stegen. Spencer is a biathlete, skier, and cyclist. In February 2000 he was inducted into the Biathlon Hall of Fame.

Hillary W. St. Clair papers
The Hillary W. St. Clair papers (1896-1997) contain some of St. Clair's published research, calculations, notes and workbooks during his time with the Bureau of Mines, and other research in the field of metals and mining. Materials of particular interest include St. Clair's notes and lecture material regarding the history of American mining. This was later published by the Bureau of Mines in a book called Mineral Industry in Early America.
