Scope and Contents

The Peter H. DeLafosse photograph collection consists of 1 box containing 138 black-and-white photographs, copy prints, and slides pertaining to the life and work of Charles Kelly (1889-1971). He was an employee of the National Park Service and was the first superintendent of Capitol Reef National Park in southern Utah. Many of the photographs in this collection were taken by photographers and studios in Salt Lake City; these are marked or stamped, and may be under copyright by the creators. Folders 5-6 consist primarily of copy prints, including from other institutions; the holding institution should be contacted for reproduction permission. Folder 7 contains color and black-and-white slide reproductions, created between 1994 and 1997, of prints related to Charles Kelly or used in the 1996 reprint of Kelly's Salt Desert Trails.
