Scope and Contents

The Chris Jensen artwork (1960s) consists of watercolors, ink and crayon drawings, and photocopies of Jensen's art from various publications. Hans Christian Jensen (1902-1995) was a cartoonist for the Salt Lake Tribune starting in 1948. He served as chief artist for the paper during the 1960s and was well-known for his "Sheepherder Sam" comic strip that ran for more than two decades. Jensen also provided illustrations for other publications, including the Christian Science Monitor and the Ford Motor Co. magazine.
