Powell Society photograph collection
The Powell Society was incorporated in 1969 in order to promote the general study of the canyons of the American West, the study of the Colorado River Basin, and the study of John Wesley Powell and his work, and to facilitate the publication of materials generated by these studies. This collection contains black-and-white and color photographs depicting boat trips undertaken by Society members in 1957, 1972, and 1975.

The George D. Pyper photographs consist primarily of those items which Pyper collected during his nearly thirty years as manager of the Salt Lake Theater. George Dollinger Pyper served as manager of the Salt Lake Theatre from 1898 to 1929. He also served as general superintendent of the Deseret Sunday School Union and as a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
