This material documents Engen's many skiing honors, including his induction into the Ski Hall of Fame. Information regarding the twenty-fifth anniversary of Brundage Mountain ski resort, the Idaho Statehood Centennial Celebration, and the opening of the "Centennial Lift" on Brundage Mountain is also included. The scrapbook includes a short history of Brundage Mountain.

These folders contain photocopied newspaper clippings on Engen's early years in the United States. There is information on his marriage to Norma Bleak of Salt Lake City, Utah; Engen's development as an Alpine skier; his move to McCall, Idaho, to teach skiing; and his experience as captain of the 1948 Olympic Nordic Jumping Team.

Scope and Contents These folders focus on Engen's development as a ski coach and businessman. There is information on Engen's 1950 move to Snow Basin, Utah, to co-manage the ski area with his brother, Sverre. In 1952 he returned to McCall, Idaho, and gained notoriety as a junior ski coach by developing several United States Olympic skiers. In other areas of business, Engen became the owner of a Shell Oil Distributorship in McCall and formed a business partnership with J. R. Simplot and Warren Brown to develop...
