Biographical / Historical

The Bonneville Shoreline Trail is a 100-mile long mountain pathway first proposed in 1990. The trail is still in development and is hoped to eventually reach a span of 280 miles, covering areas between the Idaho-Utah border and Juab county, Utah. Despite pushback from certain residential communities, the trail gained strong support from the public as well as the Salt Lake City Mayor, City Council, and City Planning Commission. The trail gained traction through the early- to mid-90s with the establishment of the Bonneville Shoreline Trail Committee and the Bonneville Shorline Trail Coalition. Multiple sections have been developed since then.
