The R. Lloyd Snedaker photograph collection consists of photographs of commercial, institutional and residential structures in Salt Lake City designed by Mr. Snedaker, as well as some personal portraits and snapshots. The collection is divided in two sections, personal and business. The brief personalsection includes portraits of Mr. Snedaker, his wife and children. A notable picture is a threegeneration photograph dated 1910 of the young Mr. Snedaker, his father and grandmother. Also included are pictures of Mr. Snedaker receiving awards. The personal section is kept inchronological order. The business photographs document many of the notable structures designed by Mr.Snedaker. This section is divided into three parts: commercial, institutional and residential.Though some dates are available it is difficult to determine whether the date records thestructure's completion or the photograph. Therefore, these parts are filed alphabetically. Refer tothe architectural drawings for possible structure dates.Of the business section the commercial part is the most extensive. The photographs show exterior views, and in some cases the interior views are available. The institution sectionconsists of public buildings, such as the Federal Building. The residence section spans Mr.Snedaker's career. Each of these sections has portions filed in the oversize box. Please note that the file contains a large number of high quality 8 x 10 black and whitenegatives. Some prints are available from these negatives. There are also several rolls of colornegatives without prints.
