Biographical note

Don E. Trimble was born in Westhope, ND in 1916. He grew up in Toppenish, WA and worked as a miner to pay for his education at Washington State University and the University of Minnesota. He served in World War II as an Army anti-aircraft officer in the South Pacific. Mr. Trimble joined the United States Geological Survey in 1946 and worked to map the western United States. He also served as vice president of the Colorado Scientific Society in 1977 and president of the CSS in 1978. Mr. Trimble died in Salt Lake City in 2011.

Trimble served in World War II as an Army anti-aircraft officer in the South Pacific. Mr. Trimble joined the United States Geological Survey in 1946 and worked to map the western United States.
