The O. J. Hollister essay is titled, "History of Independence Hall: A Landmark in the Development of Utah." Independence Hall was located on the south side of Third South just west of East Temple (today’s Main Street). It was an adobe building 33 feet wide and 57 feet long, built by the First Congregational Church in 1865.
