Biographical Sketch

Melvin T. Smith earned a Ph.D. in history from BYU in 1972 and has served as editor of Utah Historical Quarterly, director of the Idaho State Historical Society, archivist for the Mormon History Association, and president of the Mormon History Association. His essays and book reviews have appeared in Utah Historical Quarterly, The John Whitmer Historical Association Journal, Dialogue: A Journal of Mormon Thought, and the compilation Faithful History.
