Eckley M. Keach diary

 Collection
Identifier: ACCN 1844

Scope and Contents

The Eckley M. Keach diary (1925-1976) was written by Keach (1893-1982) during a fifty-one year span of his life. The diary is full of personal anecdotes and thoughts on momentous historical events, such as World War I and the Vietnam War, that intersected with his lifetime. The diary is missing years 1937 to 1939 and the years 1941 to 1945. Keach acknowledges the loss of the 1941 to 1945 years, suspecting carelessness on the part of fellow workers. Keach believes the 1937 to 1939 war years however, were burned by fellow co-workers during a foundry move.

Abstract

The Eckley M. Keach diary (1925-1971) was written by Keach (1893-1982) during a fifty-one year span of his life. The diary is full of personal anecdotes and momentous world events that occurred during this time frame. The diary is missing years 1937 to 1939 and 1941 to 1945. The loss of the years of 1941 to 1945 is acknowledged by Keach, who suspects carelessness on the part of fellow workers. The earlier years, however, are not. Keach suspects his co-workers burned the war year pages during a foundry move.
