The transcript is a copy of an oral interview conducted by Campbell's nephew, Fred Buchanan, on 9 March 1973. The paper with "The Lass o' Lass wade" poem provides a short account of James Brookston's life that was to be published with the poem in the February 1928 issue of The Improvement Era.
