The L. John Nuttall diaries (1876-1904) are comprised of typescript copies of eleven diaries by L. John Nuttall (1834-1905). The diaries discuss his travels, weather conditions, the state of his health, traveling distances, his views on various topics, and LDS Church doctrine and instruction.

Biographical Sketch

Leonard John Nuttall was born on 6 July 1834 in Liverpool, Lancashire, England, to William and Mary Langhorn Nuttall. He was baptized into the LDS Church in 1850 by John Taylor. His family emigrated to Utah in 1852. Nuttall served in various religious and civic positions, mainly in Provo and Kanab. He died in 1905.
