Scope and Contents

The Eli A. Day papers (1876 and circa 1910) hold two items. The first is a 19-page photocopy of a typescript autobiographical sketch of Abraham Day, III, who was Eli's father, while the second is Eli Day's Normal School certificate from the University of Deseret, issued June 1876. The autobiographical sketch recounts incidents in the life of Abraham Day, a member of the Mormon Battalion. Included are recollections of incidents in Springville and Mt. Pleasant, Utah, where Day worked in timber, mills, and farming. He also served as mayor of Mt. Pleasant. Some genealogical information is included.
