This collection contains transcripts of two interviews conducted in the 1970s and six transcripts of interviews and speeches given during the Conference on Indian Self-Rule, which took place in Sun Valley, Idaho, in August 1983. The conference was sponsored by the Institute of the American West. In 1995 the Utah State University Press published a book which grew out of this conference entitled Indian Self-Rule: First-Hand Accounts of Indian-White Relations from Roosevelt to Reagan. These interviews are among those conducted during this conference.
