"Stealing Away", 2001

 Item — cassette: 1

Scope and Contents

Tyrone Davies describes his experimental film: "More like a moving painting than a movie, Stealing Away is a completely abstract exploration of the human condition. The film uses various grades of filmstrip and video (Super-8, 16mm, analog video, and digital video) to create a hypnotic collage of images. Using the cut-up technique, a writing style developed by beat-visionary William S. Burroughs . . . a film that sacrifices everything traditional for pure aesthetics. Stealing Away features astonishing visuals and an unforgettable soundtrack."

Filmed in and around Salt Lake City, Utah.
