Utah and Church History Scrapbook, 1940-1949
Scope and Contents
Many of the articles in this scrapbook are taken from a column entitled, "Historic Highlights of Mormonism" that was written in the 1940s. The historic highlights include old photographs of buildings from Nauvoo, the life of Joseph Smith, the testimony of the Book of Mormon's three witnesses, the pioneer trek, the Mormon Battalion, and the building of the Salt Lake and Logan temples. Some of the articles contain information about Utah's history before the Mormon settlers. There are pictures of John C. Fremont, Benjamin L. E. Bonneville, history about the sego lily flower, and the Pony Express.
