Scope and Contents

From the Collection: The Taxpayers for Utah records (1988) contain materials collected and produced by this group, formed in opposition to tax initiatives during the 1988 elections. Included are reports and outlines of the organization's goals and methods, statements on the expected effects of the initiatives on cities, counties, schools, and other public institutions in Utah, plans for a media campaign, news clippings, poll tracking information, research materials, and documents regarding speeches and presentations given by opponents of the initiatives. Also included are documents regarding supporters of the tax initiatives, particularly transcripts from Mills Crenshaw's radio program, which was a focal point of initiative support.
