Francis Asbury Hammond diaries [transcripts]
The Francis Asbury Hammond diaries [transcripts] (1852-1865) refelct his experiences during his years as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Hawaiian Islands. The diaries touch on the day-to-day experiences of a missionary of the time. Hammond went on to be president of the San Juan Stake of the LDS Church from 1884 to 1900.

The collection consists of a transcription of the diary of an LDS missionary to Hawaii 1881-1884. Includes detailed notes on the trip to San Francisco, the steam voyage to the Islands, and activities in Hawaii. Original may be incomplete; does not include return trip.

The Edward Partridge Jr. diaries (1854-1899) consists of nine photocopied journals written by Edward Partridge Jr. (1833-1900), a member of the Utah Territorial Legislature and a delegate to the Utah Constitutional Convention.

The William Caine Patrick papers (1854-1971) consist of the personal papers of William Caine Patrick, as well as John T. Caine and others. Included are correspondence, journals, articles, news clippings, biographical materials, and memorabilia. William Caine Patrick was the grandson of John T. Caine, a Latter-day Saint pioneer and church and civic leader during the 1800s.

The Alma Lamoni Smith diary (1857-1858) details his mission for the Church of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) to Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii. Included in the collection is an access copy and a transcript. The original journal is located in Reserve.

The Joseph F. Smith family papers (1860-1944) contain correspondence, diaries, a letter book, and general materials pertaining to the life of Joseph F. Smith, his wives, and family. Smith was the sixth President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). He was the last President of the Church to have personally known the founder of the LDS faith, the Prophet Joseph Smith, Jr., who was also his uncle.
