Loren E. Morey papers
The Loren E. Morey papers (1826-1983) contain correspondence, notes, articles, publications, notebooks, pamphlets, brochures, and news clippings related to hot air balloons and rocket systems. Loren E. Morey received a Ph.D in chemistry from Columbia University in 1944. He worked for Hercules Powder Company for twenty-five years beginning in 1950. While at Hercules, he participated in the development of several military rockets including the Nike Ajax, Little John, Terrier, and Talos.
