The Don L. Lind papers (1963-1994) center around Lind's experimental work with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), but also include professional correspondence and personal materials. Lind served as an astronaut (1966-1985) and then as a professor of physics at Utah State University (1985-1994).

The Don Lind photograph collection contains research materials regarding experiments conducted by Lind in association with NASA during his tenure as professor at Utah State University. These experiments include the Interstellar Gas Experiment (1984-1990) and Space Lab III (Auroral Observations, 1983-1987). The collection also contains thirty-two photographs of the Aurora Borealis as seen in Alaska, September 1984.
