The John Hoagland avalanche publications collection (1933-1990) contains published technical reports and monographs mostly from the United States Forest Service on avalanche research and the impact of avalanches on alpine skiing. Included are manuals for the National Avalance School sponsored by the Forest Service, as well as technical reports relating to avalanche control. Hoagland is a winter recreation specialist for the United States Forest Service.

The John Hoagland photograph collection contains photographs and slides of ski lift safety and ski patrollers in action.

The Edward LaChapelle avalanche control video collection (1950-1970) consists of films about avalanche danger, control and research at Utah ski areas and around the world. The collection also includes some of LaChapelle's home movies and other ski related footage. Edward LaChapelle was an American glaciologist, mountaineer, skier, author, and professor and a pioneer in Avalanche research, safety and forecasting.

The Bob Marsh photograph collection contains slides used in avalanche education and from an avalanche study conducted by Bob Marsh.
