Abstract
The Frederick E. Hyde journals (1892-1893) consist of three volumes and detail the extended tour through the Western United States; voyages and stopovers in Japan, China, Singapore, Ceylon, Egypt, Palestine; and finally returning to the U.S. The trip also encompassed an extended visit and exploration of the Cliff Palace at Mesa Verde, and stay at the Wetherill Alamo Ranch outside of Manicos, Colorado.
