The Newhouse Mines and Smelters schematic and architectural drawings (1904-1907) contain eighty drawings. They include both architectural drawings and schematic plans that depict buildings, land, and operation details that were part of a mining area in Beaver County, Utah. In 1905, Samuel Newhouse, a mining profiteer from Pennsylvania, bought these mines, originally named the Cactus Mines, renamed them the Newhouse Mines and Smelters, and built the small town Newhouse around the mines.
