Scope and Contents In 1919 Douglass organized the company and named himself president. Other company officers were Louis A. Bailey, John Y. Smith, Herschel C. Smith, and Earl Bailey. The company acquired the oil rights to patented lands located south and west of Vernal, Utah, comprising more than 2,200 acres, and sold 100,000 shares of stock at $1.00 per share.
