This is a copy of a typewritten copy, written by Judd at the age of 75. The original is in the possession of Gertrude Judd Cottam. The first copy was completed under a ERA project in Southern Utah during 1934. This copy was completed in 1937, by Floyd L. Eisenhour, of the Historical Records Survey, of the Utah Works Progress Administration.

The Zadok Knapp Judd autobiography (1827-1909) details the life of Judd, an early convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from Canada. Judd describes his experiences journeying from Canada to Kirtland, Far West, Nauvoo, and Salt Lake City. He also describes his experiences in the Mormon Battalion and at Sutter's Fort when gold was discovered. The biography details the lives of Zadok Knapp Judd and his wife Mary Minerva Dart Judd.
