The Paul Edward Nelson photograph collection consists of 1 archives box containing 155 color photographs, primarily of the Cedar Mountains and Ripple Valley areas. Some of the photographs were likely used in the “Superconducting Super Collider Cedar Mountains Siting Proposal submitted to the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Energy Research, SSC Site Task Force by the State of Utah, September 2, 1987, Volume 4 Regional Resources”, as the cover was with the photos upon donation.

Biographical / Historical

Paul Edward Nelson (1941-2010) was born in Los Angeles, California, to Sylvester and Edna Rich Nelson. He graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, and from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Master's Degree in City and Regional Planning. He married Karen Lowe in 1965. The couple had four children. Nelson created a consulting firm, Paul Nelson Associates, and worked on a variety of projects, including the Intermountain Power Project and the Utah World Trade Center. He died in Salt Lake City on 9 March 2010.
