The George Hata digital photograph collection consists of one digital-only photograph of Donald Higa, Ken Nishima, Herbert Elliott and George Hata in Naples, Italy during their service in the 442nd Regimental Combat Team in World War II.

Biographical / Historical

George M. “Ace” Hata was born on 1920 January 16 in Gresham, Oregon to Sunao and Mitsuno Uyehara Hata. During World War II, he served in the 442nd Regiment, Company L. For his service, Hata received the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and Oak Leaf Cluster. George Hata died on 2007 January 7.
