Biographical / Historical
The Utah State National Bank was created through merger with the Utah National bank, the State Bank of Utah, and the Utah Commercial and Savings bank (Salt Lake Tribune, 2012-04-11). It was located in the Eagle Emporium building at 102 South Mains. The bank was owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In 1949, the name was changed to the Utah First National Bank, and in 1952 to the First National Bank of Salt Lake City. In 1957, it merged with the Utah Savings and Trust Company and the Zion's Savings Bank and Trust Company to form the Zions First National Bank (Webb and Hardy, 2023).
