Biographical Note

Tomiji “Tom” Takehara was born on November 18, 1924 in Milford, Utah to Kinuye Nakahara and Yosaburo Takehara. Takehara enlisted in the United States Army during World War II and served in Company B of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team. He married Chieko Kazama Takehara (1923-2005). Tom Takehara died on March 6, 2004 in Los Angeles, California.

Abstract

Tomiji “Tom” Takehara (1924-2004) was a Japanese American who served in Company B of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team during World War II. This collection contains one digital-only portrait of Takehara taken during his military service.
