The Rotisserie Inn photograph collection consists of 1 box containing 5 black-and-white portrait photographs. Though mostly unidentified, they presumably depict members of the Rinetti or Capitolo families. The images date from approximately 1900 to 1930.

Biographical / Historical

The Rotisserie Inn Restaurant was located at 323 South Main Street, Salt Lake City, Utah. It opened on July 10th, 1915. It was owned by Cesare Rinetti (1882-1971) and Francesco "Frank" Capitolo (1881-1972). Cesare Rinetti was married to Margherita Gotta (1894-1979); together, they had at least three children. Frank Capitolo was married to Livia Rinetti (1885-1962), sister of Cesare; together, they had at least three children. Rinetti and Capitolo immigrated to the United States with their families from the Piedmont region of Italy in 1911. Rinetti worked at the Ritz in New York City. Rinetti and Capitolo came to Salt Lake City in 1915. Rinetti was a member of the Elks Club, the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce, the Italian American Civic League, and the Christofo Columbo Society. During World War I, Rinetti received a presidential citation for selling war bonds ("Death Takes Cesare Rinetti, 88," Salt Lake Tribune, July 20, 1971). Cesare Rinetti died on July 19, 1971. Francesco Capitolo died on August 11, 1972.
