Scope and Contents

The Bill L. and June Adams photograph collection consists of 2 boxes containing 72 black-and-white and color prints depicting the Adams, their friends and family, and their travels, as well as photographs of mountain and desert landscapes. The collection also contains several black-and-white autographed prints of magicians. The photographs date from approximately 1960 to 2010.

Biographical Note

Bill Lee Adams was born in California on September 24, 1928. Florence June Knight was born on March 21, 1933 in Taft, California, to Orville and Cletice Knight. Bill Adams served in the Korean War. After his return, Bill and June Adams married on May 3, 1953. Together they had two children. Bill Adams was a magician, with June serving as his assistant. The couple were avid river runners, which Bill Adams documented in film. They moved to Green River, Utah, in 1991; there, June Adams became close with the Vetere family and worked selling melons. Bill Lee Adams died on September 29, 2014. June Knight Adams died on March 21, 2018.

Abstract

Bill Lee Adams (1928-2014) and June Adams (1933-2014) were river runners who lived in Green River, Utah. This collection contains photographs of the Adams, Utah landscapes, and portraits of magicians dating from 1960 to 2010.
