Biographical Note
Marsha Anne Hunter Irwin was born on November 6, 1942 in Lehi, Utah to Geraldine Thomas and Lynn O. Hunter. She attended Snow College and the University of Utah and graduated with a degree in Business and Finance. After graduation, Marsha worked for Wells Fargo Bank in San Francisco, California, before moving to Salt Lake City in 1978, where she worked as an investment banker for First Security Bank. In 1979, she married Scott Irwin.
Marsha Irwin was an active member of the University of Utah Crimson Club. She chaired the Friends of the Library Board for the Marriott Library and promoted and supported the Marriott Library Special Collections and Archives. An avid skier, Irwin joined the Utah Ski Archives board in 2000, where she served as Chair of Logistics. She contributed to 14 Ski Affair events and raised more than $50,000 for the organization. In addition to her work for the Ski Archives and the University of Utah, Irwin served as Secretary for the Wasatch Community Symphony Orchestra. Marsha Irwin died on October 19, 2015.
