Scope and Contents

The Luke Bodensteiner digitaal photograph collection contains 2 digital only images of Bodensteiner after winning the NCAA Ski Championship. The images depict Bodensteiner on the medal podium and with coach Pat Miller. The items in this collection were donated in connection with the April 2008 "Celebration on Snow" reunion and event which commemorated the 60th anniversary of the University's Ski Team.

Biographical Note

Luke Bodensteiner attended the University of Utah, where he was a member of the University Ski Team. During this time, Bodensteiner won the 1990 and 1993 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championships in classical technique. He competed at two Winter Olympics: Albertville (1992) and Lillehammer (1994). Bodensteiner was the first American skier to compete at four World Junior Championships. Bodensteiner worked as vice-president of athletics for the United States Ski and Snowboard Association. He was on the Board of Trustees for the Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Organizing Committee and was among the founders of the Soldier Hollow legacy venue. In 2019, Bodensteiner began working for the Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation as General Manager of Soldier Hollow and as Chief of Sport Development.
