Scope and Contents
The James G. Rossiter photograph collection consists of 1 box containing 395 black-and-white and color photographs and digital items. The collection consists primarily of a Pocatello Ski Association Scrapbook and Yearbook dating from the 1970s. In addition to photographs, the scrapbook and yearbook contain print material: newspaper clippings, brochures, and fliers about the community activities and ski events associated with the PSA.

Biographical Note
James Gabriel Rossiter (1925-2009) was born on March 19, 1925 in Pocatello, Idaho, to Ralph W. Sr. and Delcene B. Rossiter. James Rossiter served in the United States Army as a medical and dental technician between 1943 and 1946, where he was stationed in New Guinea Luzon, the Philippines, and Japan. Rossiter attended Idaho State University where he studied zoology. In college, Rossiter worked for the Forest Service, and in the 1970s worked at Yellowstone National Park in the summers.
An avid skier, Rossiter was a founding member of the Pocatello Ski Association. The Pocatello Ski Assocation was a member club of the Intermountain Division of the United States Ski Association. Rossiter promoted skiing in the Pocatello community by putting on shows of Warren Miller ski movies throughout the 1960s and 1970s. He served as president of the association for several terms. James Rossiter died on March 1, 2009.
