Biographical Sketch

Ted Ligety began skiing in Park City, Utah at the age of 2 and started racing at 11. Ligety started skiing for the Park City Farm Team moving up to the Park City Ski Team and then the United States Ski Team in 2005. In the 2006 Turino Olympics Ted Ligety won the gold medal in the combined (2 slalom and 1 downhill race).

His career higlights include:
  1. Gold medal in the combined at the 2006 Turino Olympics
  2. First World Cup win in 2006
  3. First in 2006 National Championship in the slalom and comnined
  4. Four top 15 finishes in the slalom during 2005
