Biographical Sketch

In a letter dated April 21, 2004, Kenneth Fielding McAllister to Roy Webb, Mr. McAllister described the SOCOTWA (South Cottonwood Ward) river trip he took from June 5th to June 13th, 1956. He was 16 years old, and had taken the trip because his stepbrother, Robert G. Vernon, had taken the trip the year before. Mr. McAllister went on the trip with a group consisting of Jon Carpenter, Bob Webber, and Robb Russon, with whom he subsequently worked at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. In the letter, Mr. McAllister identifies each slide, and gives other background information about the trip. The letter is included in the collection.
