Biographical Note
Yosaburo Takehara was born in Japan in approximately 1899. He immigrated to the United States in 1914. In approximately 1923, he married Kinuye Nakahara (1896-1977); together, the couple had at least four children. In 1915, Takehara began working for the Union Pacific Railroad out of Caliente, Nevada. He worked for the railroad until 1942, when he lost his job and was evicted from company housing. Yosaburo Takehara died on November 10, 1978, in Whitefish, Montana.
