Biographical Note

Gaylon Whitney Hansen was born on October 8, 1932 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ester Louise “Molly” Edwards and Whitney Charles Hansen. Hansen served in the United States Air Force. After completing his military service, Hansen returned to Utah and attended Westminster College, earning a degree in Geology. Hansen worked as a geologist throughout his career. He married Joy Dinsdale; the two later divorced. Gaylon W. Hansen died on March 20, 2007.
